Clean and Safe Water changes everything.
8 out of 10 households do not have access to good drinking water and 5 out 10 do not have basic sanitation information and good latrines in their peri-urban areas of Fort Portal Tourism City. HUVUCSO internal baseline report 2020.
Mostly this has affected the women, children and the nearby primary and secondary schools. In order to minimize this situation HUVUCSO and her long term partners the Germany Friends are constructing protected springs and public tap stands and rising awareness on promoting hygiene and sanitation in the rural and marginalized areas of Fort Portal City.
Below is a photo showing residents of Nyakasanja in North Division taking good drinking water from one of one of the protected spring which was constructed with financial support from the Germany Friends.
